Lisa Richards

I am a mother. I was told I could not be a mother. To come from that point, to this point, is by far my greatest achievement.

Lisa Richards is a wife and mum who is passionate about women who want to have a baby in their 40s.

In finding a dearth of information to support her own fertility journey, Lisa researched the challenges older parents face no matter where they are located in the world. The obstacles are not solely fertility. There is a lack of transparency and information supporting all the options available to would-be parents. They desperately want to know what they can do to better their odds. When even the laws affecting a parent’s right to procreate are confusing and differ across the globe, the quest to have a baby in your 40s can seem fantastical. However the paths travelled by other women are enormously helpful in any would-be parent’s decision to embark upon late parenthood. Ten years after the start of Lisa’s journey, her book, “Making babies in your 40’s”, was borne.

The book draws upon 10 years’ personal experience and the experience of others who have kindly shared their stories with Lisa. Having watched friends, clients and family experience the challenges of fertility in their 40s, Lisa’s hope is to provide a plan for people who want to make babies to get to a place where they can look back and say, I gave it my best shot.
